We arrived at Stonehenge at about 1pm. We saw the Evan Evans tour bus already parked there so it must have left the castle before us. I assume it was the same bus because we saw the same Japanese girl that we saw at Windsor Castle, and we saw the Evan Evans tour bus there also. They are also supposed to be a very good tour company, probably about the same as Premier Tours that we are using.

Below is the obligatory picture of Stonehenge. I overheard someone saying that the tour is 6 pounds, but as part of the tour, our admission is already paid for. They have an audio device that is free which provides commentary at 7 distinctly marked points as you walk around Stonehenge. The audio tour is available in multiple languages so it appears quite accommodating. I listened to much of the audio tour and it was very informative.

Stonehenge is fenced off from the road, so you have to park across the street from Stonehenge, and walk through an underground tunnel which emerges inside the fenced area. There is a walkway along the road so people can see Stonehenge from the road without having to pay to get in. If you haven't heard the audio tour before, I would recommend paying the admission price. The walking path goes around the entire location so you can get pictures from any angle, and the commentary is quite enlightening. My only complaint is that we really could have used more time there. I didn't get to listen to the last part of the audio tour because the bus was getting ready to leave. Another 10 or 15 minutes would have been great. I didn't get a chance to read the large plaquards near the parking area, but I took pictures of them so I could read them later.

It really does look like this:

I was going to get a poster print of an orange sunset shining through Stonehenge, but of course, of all the posters they had, that one was sold out.
